Job Description

Job Description: Responsible for manufacturing engineering and quality activities at the two assigned sites.

Further, this position shall develop strategies and execution plans for the development and continuous improvement of Manufacturing & Quality Engineering philosophies and techniques.

This position shall support both the local and global Key Process Indicators (KPI).

This position is a key contributor in generating year over year reduced operating expenses, improved productivity and cost reductions at each applicable site.

Reports directly to the Plant Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
A person in this position shall possess ?

a minimum of five years experience/exposure in a manufacturing environment.

This position requires proficiency in manufacturing and quality engineering system development, automotive quality systems, IATF International Quality Standards, MPIF standards, and problem solving.

A Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, ASQ Quality Engineering, or MPIF PMT Certificate or equivalent experience is preferred.

Extensive knowledge of PM manufacturing processes, including compacting, sintering and sizing is desired.

An excellent working knowledge of statistical techniques, data analysis and root cause analysis tools are also critical to this function.  This position requires a high-energy individual with excellent communication, presentation and organization skills.

A self-directed goal-oriented individual is a must for this high-profile position.

The ability to teach/train/facilitate and lead the execution of Manufacturing Engineering and Quality initiatives amongst a cross-functional team environment is also a must.

This position may require up to 10% travel.

Essential Functions:

Serve as IATF Quality & Customer Requirements & Systems.

Champion 8D Activity uncovered during audits.

Lead, Coach, and Develop all Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Team Members Train the Trainer
– Participate/Lead in the development and execution of training activities for Team Promotion of teamwork with cross function areas.

Set goals of Manufacturing and Quality Engineers.

Evaluate performance of Manufacturing and Quality Engineers.

Quality:
Maintain customer specific requirements thru Guksa.

Coordinate the distribution and maintenance of the Management System Requirements Enter request for Purchase Order and follow through to payment on all items Identify and provide solutions for manufacturing and quality problems and opportunities as identified, Technical Quality Liaison between the external customer and manufacturing for new products.

Participate in root cause analysis of customer concerns.

Participate in Defective Material Review (DMR) System.

Participate in Cost of Non-Quality Reduction (CNQ) Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) Facilitate the temporary deviation and print change requests systems in LN Identify and monitor key quality indices that track production performance.

Participate in all cost reduction initiatives and process enhancements to existing products and processes., Leader of Cost Reduction activities.

Represent the Quality Engineering Teams in the Advanced Product Quality planning (APQP) Process.

Manufacturing Engineering: Implement improvements for manufacturing equipment and automation across PAS Work with Global team to implement future designs on equipment and automation across PAS Support the execution of Capex and CIMS Projects across PAS during budget process and throughout the year.

Manage capex to budget level without overspend.

Responsible for Industrial Plan for PAS locations Key champion for insourcing activities, equipment specifications to achieve, and cost management to ensure project delivers expected results.

Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution to business.

Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.

Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.

Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures Coordinates activities with Plant Operations Departments.

All other duties as assigned by Manager.

Accidents involving injuries, property damage, and spills must be reported to supervisor immediately.

Near misses (close calls) must be reported as well.

5-S standards must be maintained in all assigned areas.
