EHR Supervisor (Electronic Health Records)

This is a Contract position in Denver, CO posted November 21, 2022.

Overview: The EHR Supervisor is a highly efficient, knowledgeable professional with EPIC clinical electronic records experience and the ability to respond to agency EHR requests and training needs.

This position will ensure the Epic EHR meets the needs of the organization by attending clinical meetings as a subject matter expert, helping to operationalize new builds, and providing required training.

This position provides clinical oversight to the development, implementation, and growth of the Electronic Health Record department.

Responsibilities: Documentation, Client liaison and TrainingDesign, update and oversee curriculum development and resources for clinical documentation.

Ensure appropriate charting etiquette, practices and procedures.Conduct needs assessments, diagnose and address regulatory, industry or agency-specific education needs.

Integrate changes in clinical practice with appropriate documentation, ensuring the EHR and corresponding training materials reflect appropriate changes.

Coordinate system changes using agency quality goals and audit outcomes.

Develop and deliver curriculum to achieve key learning metrics, and accurately monitor training programs for revisions.

Utilize clinical perspective and communication with clinical staff to identify focus areas for optimization, including clinical workflow changes, software customization, and specialized training.Be responsible for reporting to the vendor any software defects or change requests and track documented issues for clinical services.Oversee upgrade testing from clinical perspective to understand system changes and ensure software updates improve performance, adhere to data integrity and HIPAA standards, and meet clinical needs.Process Improvement and Supervisory ServicesAssess clinical needs and match them with epic features release schedules and agency’s internal project schedules.

Accountable for managing the team’s progress to plan.Work with project leadership and team to develop and maintain specific work plans and task lists, as well as monitor progress of relevant workflow analysis, design, and configuration schedules.Act as the primary contact and coordinator for the specific area of expertise regarding questions and issues.Support coordination and communication between disciplines and interdisciplinary teams.

Provide clinical input for the development, testing and implementation of EHR system functionality and system upgrades.

Manage analysts, and day to day work operations.

The lead will document team status, issues, and risks.

Must remain aware of and follow compliances and HIPAA guidelines.Identify process improvement and technology efficiencies for end users.

Collaborate with the business, project leadership, and other teams to ensure the design, build, and activation is successful and meets the needs of the business.Manage Staff Hire, train, engage and retain department staff.Assign, direct and verify the work of direct reports.Assess staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, correction, and development opportunities.
