Welcome to this opportunity to expand your professional leadership skills! In this Charge Nurse role, you will have shift oversight for a 23 bed clinical decision unit. The intent of this unit is to provide focused, quality care to patients who present to the emergency department but do not meet full admission requirements. Examples of patients cared for in this protocol-driven unit will be those suffering from chest pain, asthma, allergic reactions, and traumatic injuries.Job SummaryOversight of daily frontline nursing staff in a short stay clinical decision unit that is connected to the Level I Trauma accredited Adult Emergency Department. Patients in this 23 bed unit are a blend of medical and trauma patients; who do not meet inpatient admission requirements but require additional testing and/or assessments prior to disposition.Facilitates, coordinates and directs patient care services and provides leadership to this observation unit within designated areas of responsibility. Responsible for oversight of daily staff while on duty and the throughput of patients during their Clinical Decision Unit stay.
