Life Science Associate Creative Director – Copy


This is a Full-time position in Denver, CO posted November 19, 2022.

Job Summary:
A copy/content leader who has a background in writing for healthcare audiences (HCPs, patients, caregivers, etc.). They understand how to develop content that will capture interest, build trust and work in a highly regulated industry – life sciences and/or health sector. They are collaborative with team members from multiple disciplines, including art/visual design, but also client services, performance marketers, data/analytics, strategy and more. They understand how to create unique content for immerging media and tech (especially helpful in unique healthcare platforms). The copy supervisor has experience writing/evaluating copy based on clinical product information, can find compelling narratives in clinical data and prescribing information, and can talk shop with both life science brand marketers as well as healthcare system/provider and patient audiences. You are expected to become familiar with the product, science, and strategic issues for each product you work on, and experience on multiple therapeutic categories will be key. We’re looking for a multi-faceted writer that has the flexibility and experience in writing long-form editorial, short compelling content, conceptual advertising copy, and more. They will also understand how to create content that aligns to a respective client’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities:

o Participates in strategic planning and project meetings with internal and client teams as needed

o Plans develops and writes materials as assigned, working under the close supervision of the scientific staff on specific initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic objectives

o Partners with art direction/visual designers as well as other creative team members to develop highly visual and engaging materials that maintain a high level of scientific accuracy, compelling campaign creative, and achieve our client’s strategic objectives

o Partners with internal team and provides onsite support at key client meetings or events

o Attends and participates in MLR reviews as needed (Experience in live reviews will be key)

o Secures references as needed through the appropriate channels to provide full support of all claims within a deliverable and provides clean delivery of reference packets for internal and client teams

o Collaborates with editorial to resolve grammatical or stylistic errors or concerns

o Takes a proactive solutions-oriented approach into all tasks

YOUR EXPERIENCE: Basic Qualifications

  • At least 7 years Conceptual healthcare/medical writing experience, preferably in a health care marketing or communications agency, healthcare publication company, internship, preceptorship or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience writing and editorial skills with a thorough knowledge of AMA style and medical terminology expertise
  • Minimum 3 years proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum 5 years proven organizational and timeline prioritization skills; scheduling flexibility to accommodate work volumes and the ability to manage multiple assignments

SET YOURSELF APART: Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Oncology, Neurology, Rare Disease, Patient Services, or related areas
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience
  • Advanced degree in the Life Sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD)
  • Residency, fellowship and publication/writing experience or experience in medical or pharmaceutical field strongly preferred
  • Experienced at strategic brainstorming, campaign development and creative execution writing email copy, advertising (digital, print, banners), brand messaging, web copy, video scripts, marketing collateral

Compensation for roles at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City or Washington as set forth below andinformation on benefits offered is here.

Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role

California: $168,300 – $258,500

Colorado: $168,300 – $223,300

New York City: $194,800 – $258,500

Washington: $179,200 – $237,800
