AVP – Non-Agency Contract Finance

– Non-Agency Contract Finance

Location: Denver, CO (Onsite).

Hybrid Role: Partially remote to start, will be FT on-site in the near future.

The AVP
– Non-Agency Contract Finance will be responsible for managing the contracts and terms associated with private-label RMBS securitizations, whole loan acquisitions, whole loan sales and other related activity for the Non-Agency Originations business.

This position will work closely with the Originations Risk group and will be the liaison between the non-agency group and the greater Company’s legal team.

The individual will assist in all aspects of executing and closing securitizations and whole loan trades.

This position requires the individual be comfortable managing and negotiating complex legal agreements and sophisticated financial transactions.

A strong legal background is preferred and the successful candidate will have experience in structured finance either as an issuer, underwriter or legal representative.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with Company Confidential securitization team, managing all contractual and disclosure obligations related to private label RMBS securitization.

Manage and negotiate all contracts related to non-agency residential whole loan bulk purchases and sales.

Assist in all aspects of executing and closing securitizations and whole loan trades.

Collaborate with key internal and external resources including: risk, legal, due diligence, finance, accounting, broker/dealers, servicing, collateral transfer, custodians, and trustees.

Maintain and track all contracts related to purchase, sale and financing activity.

Promote a culture of innovation by continuously challenging the staff to seek out process improvement initiatives, automation enhancements and idea generation to ensure the transactions are being run optimally.

Responsible for guiding workflows and monitoring the work output of external legal resources.

Exercise exemplary corporate citizenship including strict adherence to compliance requirements and Company Confidential tenets Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
History of negotiating and managing contracts surrounding mortgage transactions.

Knowledge of structured products, contract finance and mortgage lending generally.

The ability to meet deadlines.

Strong communication skills with teams and individuals at all levels of the company and with third parties.

Eagerness to be in a dynamic environment and learn and expand responsibilities.

Ability to work independently while focused on accuracy, efficiency, and delivery of product.

Willingness to be part of a team that focuses on time-sensitive products with dynamic views and goals.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree.

Juris Doctorate strongly preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of related experience.

Strong background in MS Office.
