Our headquarters is located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near historic Golden, Colorado with an additional office located in Northern California (Redwood City).

About the Role

This newly created Director, Program Management role will report to the VP of Portfolio and Program Management (PPM). Within the Operations team, there are four groups: Integrated Supply Chain & Manufacturing Services, Data Services & Cloud Hosting, Customer Success and Portfolio & Program Management (PPM). This role will lead complex New Product Introduction (NPI) programs supporting the platform – embedded software, cloud, AI, mobile, data science and RPM software which come together as an integrated customer solution.

In partnership with the System Engineering and Product team, The Program Director will orchestrate product delivery activities for new product introduction (NPI) programs, ensure products are aligned to business strategies and objectives, projects are within budget, and that they meet quality standards and the needs of our customers. The incumbent will lead the core and extended product development teams (R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, product/market, etc.) responsible for managing the stage gate development process activities.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to drive change in culture and behaviors and must have strong intellect and demonstrate outstanding work ethic, be capable of understanding and articulating complex scientific, interpersonal, regulatory and business issues while leading and motivating by example. This leader will also demonstrate the courage required to successfully balance the quality / timeliness polarity of superior Program Management and drive teams to succeed, or have the courage to change directions appropriately, as the facts present themselves.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and lead high performance project teams, serving as the project advocate within the client organization. Lead, coordinate, facilitate, and motivate all associated project resources to gain alignment on project goals and deliverables
• Define project objectives, requirements, and assumptions necessary to structure a project or activity
• Develop and drive integrated project plans, aligning program tactics with program strategy
• Manage projects within established scope, schedule, and budget while meeting and exceeding project management standards
• Develop and document high-level strategies for accomplishing specific project objectives
• Facilitate and lead effective project meetings, manage change and conflict, and develop resource planning estimates to manage project workload and productivity
• Communicates program analytics, status, plans and strategies to executive management

Requirements:

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Engineering or a technical/scientific field)
• Master’s degree preferred
• 7-12+ years’ experience in Medical Device Program Management
• Experience with RPM or cloud-based medical devices is preferred
• Solid knowledge of medical device regulations including 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485. Knowledge of Design Controls, Design Transfer, CAPA, etc.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar certification is strongly recommended
• Experience using and implementing Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies
• Strategic planning and business development experience
• Ability to learn all functions of the business and build bridges between functions to further the overall goals of the organization – must be a collaborator and communicator
• Accepts responsibility and accountability for project success and associated key decisions
• Continuous improvement mindset and a result and quality driven approach
• Advanced analytical skills: demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex process/system issues
• Strong communication skills: ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous programs/projects
• Can clearly explain and celebrate the values that will ensure long-term success

Job Type: Full-time – Exempt

Work Location: Redwood City, CA or Golden, CO

Estimated Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% of time

Salary Expectations: $150,000 – $200,000 total compensation (based on experience and location)
